Around Raleigh, specialist offices tend to cluster near hospitals and in medical office parks, and wait times for a consultation run from a few days for an endodontist to several weeks for a busy orthodontist. Most consultations across North Carolina are free or low-cost and come with a written treatment plan and price; ask whether the fee is in-network for your plan, what sedation options exist and how many visits the treatment takes. A second opinion is normal for implants, jaw surgery and full-mouth reconstruction, and reputable specialists expect it.

I had Dr. Crisp remove my wisdom teeth. His bedside manner was excellent and I was super pleased and confident in his capability. Would definitely recommend him!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. I am in my 40's and one of the teeth was a tough extraction. Dr. Gaines did an amazing job, so much so that I did not even need to take prescription pain meds. Tylenol and Advil did the trick. My favorite part about his practice is that the appointment is just you. There are not multiple other patients that he is attending to at once. You get his undivided attention. (Side note: at all my appointments I was taken in on time and he was never running late once.) I have extreme dental anxiety and Dr. Gaines has proven to be an expert at his field, and his staff are top notch as well. I would not think twice about recommending him to anyone.

Dr. Gaines is the best oral surgeon I have ever met. I knew if my husband trusted him, he must be good at what he does. Dr. Gaines and his staff made sure I was in no pain each time I was treated. I am a person that often suffers from dry socket after an extraction. Each of the 2 times I had a procedure done in his office, I never suffered from dry socket. I say again, Dr. Gaines is the best. Clean office and kind staff.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Gaines to evaluate a molar that needed to be removed. I was informed of several replacement options and chose an implant. I was counseled on sedation options, preappointment medications, and post-procedure care. The extraction procedure went as planned and the healing process was without complication. Four months later the implant was installed and again the healing process was without complications. Through each of these steps, the procedures were without pain. The clinical staff and office staff were both easy to work with and acted professionally. I am glad I chose Dr. Gaines and his office for my implant procedure and highly recommend their practice. Dr. Gaines and his staff were extremely professional and personable. The process was seamless. They explained in great detail what to expect before and after surgery of wisdom teeth removable. So far they have been correct as far as what to expect with pain and timing of pain peak vs recovery. They scheduled a follow up appointment before my son was discharged. They gave my son plenty of time to wake up, and there was no rushing out the door. They only do one surgery at a time (obviously) and do not let patients or parents wait together. They are respectful of each personβs time. The doctor even took time after surgery to follow up with me. They were very accommodating. The office is very clean and pleasant and a good, peaceful location with accessible parking right near entrance. Dr. Gaines was recommended by my pediatric dentist who has treated all three of my kids. Not sure about the low review as we had a completely opposite experience. One more thing to add, they were prompt and organized in explaining and quoting the cost of the procedure.
